    S. Harlan Schonfeld, CA CIRP

    Harlan is a fully credentialed Chartered Accountant (CA), a Trustee in Bankruptcy, and a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) with more than 35 years of experience in financial services. As a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP), he maintains a complete breadth of knowledge regarding the Canadian and international financial landscape.

    David Harwood CA, CIRP

    David is a Bankruptcy Trustee, a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and a Chartered Accountant with memberships of both the UK and Canadian Institutes. He has over 25 years of experience in dealing with both domestic and International insolvency matters. David has worked for many of the large professional accounting firms in the past as well as running his own financial advisory firm for over 10 years. David is experienced at running companies in financial difficulty and has acted as a Chief Restructuring Officer on a number of occasions. David’s industry experience is diverse and includes Financial Institution, Automotive, Transportation, Fishing, Real Estate, Construction, Hospitality, Lumber and Forestry. David has previously sat on the board of the Ontario Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals and the Professional Conduct Committee. He is currently serving on the CAIRP Exam board.




    Robert Link, CIRP

    Robert is a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy. With over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector across Canada, including stops in Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto, Robert truly understands the national business landscape.  During his eight years (1993-2000) with one of the world’s largest international financial institutions, Robert was responsible for managing large commercial loans but quickly gravitated towards managing distressed loan portfolios. Robert gained a comprehensive working knowledge of commercial credit guidelines, banking law, and security realization, and is consistently able to formulate and implement effective restructuring and recovery strategies. In 2001 Robert joined the Reorganization Services Group of a national accounting and consulting firm as a senior manager and helped guide a wide range of insolvency proceedings and corporate restructurings. Robert joined Schonfeld Inc. in 2003 and produces exceptional results in dealing with complex legal and commercial insolvency matters in a wide variety of industries.


    Jim Merryweather, CGA

    As a results-oriented professional with a customer service approach, Jim cares about getting the job done right.  He began his career with Irving Oil in New Brunswick, where he was assigned increasingly greater responsibilities and challenges within accounting, eventually becoming Corporate Accountant and Assistant Comptroller. In 1999, armed with his CGA designation, Jim ventured west to the Ontario telecommunications frontier where he became the Director of Accounting for C1 Communication Inc, an entrepreneurial venture which failed but led to his first contact with Schonfeld Inc. After moving to Toronto Hydro Energy Services as Director of Accounting, Jim decided to join the Schonfeld Inc. team in 2002. Now Jim uses his accounting knowledge to address bankruptcy, receiverships, Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceedings, and proposals in a wide variety of industries ranging from retail and transportation to entertainment and industrial contract services.
